The AME certification is specialized licensing programme for servicing and maintenance of Aircraft and only those institutes approved by the DGCA can impart training in this field to prepare you for the AME exam conducted by the DGCA. DGCA will issue an AME licence.
The salient features of Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course based on CAR 147 (Basic) conducted by Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology are mentioned below:
The duration of this course is of 2 years (4 semesters) and students will be issued with Certificate of Recognition on successful completion of training course. Out of total practical training hours 70% of the practical training will be carried out Inhouse and 30% of the total practical training hours will be carried out in CAR 145 Maintenance Organisations i.e. Actual Environment Training (AET) for all B1.1, B1.3 and B2 categories. The practical task will cover cross representative sections of the aircraft systems and accordingly TIAT has long term agreement with CAR 145 organisations to impart practical training to the students undergoing CAR 147 Basic training in 2 years of AME Curriculum.
